TUK TUK PROJECT

Tuk Tuk Projekt

By providing around 70 tuk-tuks or three-wheel cars, SGC was able to move a number of families out of the slums and give them a secure income. They now chauffeur their fares through the streets of Phnom Penh, earning a regular income of around 300 US Dollars per month, which allows their families to live in dignity. SGC workers are in weekly contact with the families, so that any concerns or problems can be addressed without delay.

A number of tuk-tuks have been handed over to other charitable organisations who use them for their own transport needs. As the administrative and maintenance costs for the tuk-tuks are relatively high, this project has now been terminated, and any donations made towards it will be redirected to our cluster projects, or used for direct aid.
