Smiling Gecko Switzerland (SGS) is an association founded in 2012 under Swiss law, which supports the needy population in Cambodia with direct, non-material and financial aid with sustainable, ecologically and economically sensible projects. As a non-governmental organization, Smiling Gecko has set itself the goal of various development aid projects.<\/div>\n \t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t
This includes: supporting charitable projects for children, families and villages through campaigns and\/or with financial means; as a mediator to establish contact between relevant projects (or their sponsors) and potential donors; to ensure that donations are used according to the will of the donors and to provide them with the appropriate information in return. At the same time, SGS maintains a network with renowned Swiss institutions that support the projects financially, with their specific know-how and\/or by taking on planning, design, training, coordination and control tasks in Switzerland and Cambodia.<\/div>\n \t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

WE ARE RECOGNIZED NON-PROFIT<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

After a thorough examination, the canton of Zurich (tax office) recognized Smiling Gecko as a non-profit association. As a result, not only is the association itself tax-exempt, but donors can deduct the donated amounts from their taxable income to the extent permitted by law in Switzerland.<\/div>\n \t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In addition to the Swiss organization, there is also Smiling Gecko Germany based in Freiburg\/Breisgau, Smiling Gecko USA based in Brooklyn, NY and of course Smiling Gecko Cambodia (SGC). SGC operate from our office in Phnom Penh and from the Smiling Gecko Campus . While the non-Asian locations are primarily active in fundraising, SGC is our local operational organization. It is legally independent and largely Cambodian owned.<\/div>\n \t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
