School has started again in Cambodia. For around 100 of the little ones, a new chapter in their lives begins, while for 50 of the older ones, the adventure of middle school begins. We are proud of everyone.

We received bad news from Cambodia. In the early evening hours of June 30, the Smiling Gecko Campus was hit by a severe storm that lasted several hours, which unfortunately caused major damage to buildings and greenhouses, the Farmhouse Resort and the fields.
Last Wednesday, we surprised our kindergarten and primary school children with lots of fantastic books. The books were donated by the students of Lakeside School Horgen.

The Covid pandemic and its effects have now lasted much longer than anyone had hoped for at the beginning of the crisis, and the situation in Cambodia has continued to deteriorate in 2021. At our school, it’s been a difficult year as well.
The situation has not improved; quite the contrary. In order to alleviate the acute situation, Smiling Gecko has been providing emergency humanitarian aid since the beginning of the Corona crisis in March 2020, supporting more than 400 families with over 2,400 family members in the area.
